Weekly Recap: Ontex to Divest Turkish Subsidiary, Parasol to Expand to 1600 Target Stores & More

2025-02-12 22:00

Ontex Group has entered into a binding agreement to sell its Turkish subsidiary to Dilek Grup in a deal that includes Ontex’s business in Turkey and related export business as well as its plant in Istanbul. Ontex’s Turkish subsidiary develops, manufactures, commercializes and distributes predominantly branded personal hygiene products with leading positions in Turkey and the surrounding regions. Last year, the subsidiary — as part of the Emerging Markets division—generated about €90 million in sales and included the brands Canebebe, Canped, Prosafe and Windelhosen. Ontex’s Emerging Markets division has been classified as discontinued operations.

Meanwhile, Premium diaper company Parasol Co is expanding its presence in Target stores on endcaps. Following a successful launch in 375 nationwide Target stores in 2024, Parasol is set to expand to 1600 Target stores across the U.S. The company will offer $4.99 sample packs of its signature Clear+Dry Natural Disposable Diapers beginning in February on endcap and $3 sample packs of its Clean+Pure Natural Baby Wipes in Target's travel section starting in early March, offering parents an accessible way to experience Parasol's premium, science-backed products and discover the difference in comfort and quality.
